Specialist Referrals

If your primary care physician directs you to a specialist, please call our office - or use the website (see tab marked Contact Us) - with your appointment date, time, specialist name, and reason for the referral. Please notify our patient account office at least 5 business days before your appointment. This will allow us time to process the referral according to your insurance company’s requirements and for your specialist to receive notice of the authorization prior to your arrival for the visit.

Your primary care physician must direct your care in order for your insurance company to cover the specialist visit. Authorization must be obtained prior to your visit to the specialist. Please contact your primary care doctor immediately if you feel you are in need of a specialist.
