I grew up in the Flint Hills of Kansas and moved to Colorado after nursing school. I earned my BS at Metropolitan State College, and my MS/PNP at the University of Colorado. I earned my PhD in nursing from the University of Utah, and began my teaching career there. I am a Professor and Department Chair at the Indiana University School of Nursing.
