I grew up in the Flint Hills of Kansas and moved to Colorado after nursing school. I earned my BS at Metropolitan State College, and my MS/PNP at the University of Colorado. I earned my PhD in nursing from the University of Utah, and began my teaching career there.
I retired from the IU School of Nursing in 2013, and hold an appointment there as a Professor Emerita. I also retired from the Navy, etc etc . In my free time, I am a writer, singer, and photographer.
