Coding and Documentation Guidelines

Northpoint Pediatrics physicians follow the AMA Coding and Documentation guidelines. If your child comes in for a well child visit, but in the course of this routine visit “an abnormality/ies is encountered or a preexisting problem is addressed” the appropriate Office/Outpatient problem-oriented evaluation and management, E/M service will be coded in addition to the preventive code; which may result in additional charges.

We are excited have three Certified Professional Coders on our team. Our coders are credentialed with the American Academy of Professional Coders, The AAPC.  Our certified coders perform routine audits on the coding of all of our providers to ensure we are reporting the services that have been performed to our patients at the highest level of accuracy.  We are pleased to offer our patients the opportunity to have their services audited by our coding team.  This is a valuable service that can provide you with a better understanding of what was billed to you or to your insurance company.

If you have questions on your child’s bill or would like to have their coding audited, please do not hesitate to contact our patient account department at 317-621-9183 or email us at mynorthpointaccount@ecommunity.com and we would be happy to review your account.
