NOTE::We received notification on June 21, 2011 that there is an industry-wide transition to a single concentration of 160 mg/5 ml for all over-the-counter pediatric single-ingredient liquid acetaminophen products. With this change in concentration to 160mg/5 ml for infants’ acetaminophen products, there will be new dosing directions. The infants acetaminophen concentration will now be the same concentration as the children’s acetaminophen products. The new concentration for infants along with new dosing instructions are beginning to appear on the shelves of pharmacies. It is important to be aware that there may be a time period when both the old and new concentrations of infants acetaminphen products are available in stores.
